Motivational Writing
Hey everyone i wanted to share this and i hope this the right place to post this :)
Living with a mental illness can be hard, stressful and overwhelming at times and people suffering from a mental disorder rather it be Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder or Anxiety Disorder. Most people suffering from a mental disorder feel alone as if no one understands them, but what they dont realize is that they arent alone! They arent the only one out in the world fighting a mental illness! This goes out to any other teenage boy or girl who is suffering from a mental disorder. Dont give up! You are strong. You will overcome the illness if you put effort into doing so- if you just give up thats telling the world that its stronger than you! You are the stronger one. Its your life and you have a choice: Fight or Run Away from all your problems. Be the better person, stand up and fight back! Dont let the mental disorder stop you from living a normal life. People may call you names, make jokes, or simply laugh at you; ignore it. You are special and theyre just mad because they cant be like you!
At this point maybe youre thinking why is this person writing this, how does he know what it feels like? Well just to get that clear already, I do know how it feels. I myself have and am still suffering from mental disorders like Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety Disorder. Ive been hospitalized three times within six months for three weeks at a time. Yeah at first, I felt hopeless and would not allow anyone to help me. Well that changed pretty soon. After a few days into the second hospitalization it just came to me that Im not going to get better if I dont stand up and fight back so I did. I stood up and told myself Im the stronger one; that I can fight this.
Once you set your mind in that way, its a whole lot easier which is why Im spending my time writing this. I may not be a very good writer but Im going to try! So should you, you should stand up and fight back. Your life comes first- dont let your friends get in the way of your treatment, dont let them get in the way at all! Focus on yourself- not anyone else, just you. You may have a long period in time where you are away from your friends or family but just keep in mind youre getting help, Step by step youre getting closer to feeling relieved of all that stress and worry.
If you're disorder somehow affects your abilities in school, learn anyway. Talk to your doctor. Tell them- they cant help if you dont. They will pass the information to your school and your current teachers will be informed about it- dont worry, they will work with you! Look at it this way. I have Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Anxiety disorder I cant stand loud noises which is mostly a huge crowd of people chattering such as at the lunch room or an assembly. I also cant work well in classrooms with a huge number of people, usually over twenty five or thirty, and sometimes I get overwhelmed about small things such as a quiz or test and I might have to step out the class a minute or go the office and talk with the social worker. To me, just talking to someone helps.
All Im trying to say is dont give up, keep fighting! Show the world that you are the stronger one. Another thing that will help is trying to be social; just join right in on conversations and be kind to everyone no matter your thoughts are of that person.
Do you happen to live with a relative who is suffering from a mental disorder or illness? Here are some things you can try to better care for him or her. Talk in a straightforward manner and watch for reactions during the discussion. Slow down or back up if he or she becomes confused or looks upset. Below is a helpful table!

With Lots of love,
Johnny
