Need some advice. Help me calm down

I'm not exactly sure where to post this.

But about 9 months ago I moved to Florida to help out my brother while he was going to school and I had a job opportunity down here. He switched schools and is moveing back home.

The job is going great. It's a small company and it's exactly what I want to do in my career. We had employee evaluations this week. I'm 23 and love my work. They told me they are building the company around me and they are extremely grateful I'm here. I also like working there

But I've battled depression for the better part of my adult life. The last time I lived alone, I became so depressed I could hardly function. I was so bad I had to move home with my parents or I was going to kill my self.

The deppresion has never really gone away. But I can hold back the outburst when people are there to keep my mind occupied.

I have no idea what to do. I'm panicking. Either leave the job behind, leave them scrambling. The reason I had the offer was from a friend back home that moved here. He tells me everyday how I've made his life so much better and less stressful. Or move back home, start over in big shop. Have that period where you have to prove yourself. But I'll be close with my friends and family again.

This is tearing me apart and I can't stay focused. Maybe you guys can give me some advice. Thanks

Hi there! It sounds like you're having trouble with coping with your depression and it's to the point where it's affecting your job performance and life as well! I'm a trained active listener however, I'm not a licensed practitioner so I may not able to provide you with the advices you need as I'm not experienced nor trained in that :/
Have you maybe consider seeking advice from a licensed practitioner such as a doctor or a psychologist? They might be able to make a more formal diagnosis for you and may be able to give you some advice on how to combat and cope, hope this helps!

@RT1994 sounds like you are really torn. On one hand you have a job you love but no family around you so you fear depression will take hold, on the other you would be with your family but would let your current employer down and have to start again. No one can choose except you and I hear you when you say how difficult that is. Which ever way you go it may be useful to consider professional advice for depression either from a doctor or a therapist. It sounds like you are really self aware of your vulnerability and also your strengths 😊 I wish you all the best and keep reaching out. 🙂
