This summer I had a failed attempt and I keep trying to get over it but I can’t. I think about it a lot cause it barely feels real but I know it was cause I still remember parts of the experience. Not much has changed and I barely had any time to process what I went through because I had one week of summer left after the hospital before school started. This experience gave me trust issues, stress, and shame towards myself. I wish I would be over it by now but I can’t seem to do that. Any advice?

Hi, that makes a lot of sense that you'd still be feeling that way. You had a really intense and important experience (i.e. failed attempt) and there were a lot of feelings around, but you didn't have a chance to process them since you were forced to focus on starting school.

If you're interested in talking to someone, HERE is a list of experienced listeners who accept chats on depression.

Also, here's a link I was able to find that has some general discussion of some of the kinds of feelings that can happen in the aftermath of an attempt (e.g. vulnerability, shame, disappointment, sensitivity, frustration). And also some ideas/tips for things that might be helpful (e.g. protecting yourself from anything too draining or stressful, finding soothing/relaxing activities, coming up with routines).
