Problematic Parents

does anyone else feel like your parents don’t believe you have genuine mental health issues? I’ve asked multiple times for support and I’ve been sent away with nothing more than a vague “I’ll see what I can do” and now 6 months later there’s still nothing? I’ve been told to just “take care of it myself” but that would involve contacting my doctor and I suffer from major anxiety so I know I wouldn’t be able to make that call. just looking for people that relate so I feel less alone <3

Hey Alex, I am with you. I’ve read carefully your post and I can relate to it. My dad doesn’t believe depression is a condition, he believes that my faith isn’t strong. He don’t let me have treatment and reject me from getting my medications too. Not only that, I don’t have any financial support strong enough to cover my medical expenses. I truly understand how it feels like to have anxiety and having to seek therapy yourself, it’s a very heavy weight and I am sorry that you’ve to go thru such things. Do know that my heart goes to you and I’m hoping for better days for both of us.
