Someone help me I'm depressed.
I'm a 16 year old boy and I'm so depressed and I like Googled how to get out of it and I try all the tips like Exercise Meditation listening to music writing songs about my feelings writing short stories etc. But these only give me temporary relief and it always comes back again. I think I'm okay only for depression to hit me again in a while. I tried telling a friend and he was supportive and turns out he's depressed too but he doesn't chat with me much now he always cuts it short giving some excuse or doesn't chat at all. What can I do? I even have to cry in the shower from time to time( That's the only time I get privacy). I know im a boy and I'm not supposed to cry but I can't help it. I can't even concentrate on my studies and my ALs are like in 6 months and I really want to get through ALs. I can't tell my parents coz it's embarrassing so please help me get out of depression alone. I literally have only the friend that I mentioned above to talk to and he can't be relied upon so please help me.
Hello, man I can feel the situation you are going through. It sometimes hurts much and when it's seems like going we feel that we are okay with that. And yeah I know the condition when we want to tell something to someone but there is no one to listen. It happens in life but this time will pass. Believe this. It's good for us to distract ourselves when we are going through all this. And if you don't mind you can talk to me anytime you want. You aren't alone in this
Thank you so much for the support!
@agreeableNorth3335 most welcome. ANYTIME YOU NEED
@agreeableNorth3335 hello!
i can understand that this is a really difficult situation for you to be in. you tried a lot of distractions and coping exercises but they seem to provide only temporary relief.
it must be really hard for you to feel alone and overwhelmed. it's okay to let it out to someone or cry. being a boy does not mean you're immune to mental health struggles. i know the stigma must be difficult to deal with. we're here to listen to you.
living with a mental health condition and managing studies at the same time is definitely challenging. what do you think can help with that? i'm glad you reached out. everybody needs emotional support and you're entitled to it as well.
i hope you know that you're not alone in this and we're here for you. sending you love and strength. keep trying. ❤️

Hey, I really know how you feel. Also, I know it may seem like you aren't allowed to cry because you're a boy, but everyone needs to let out their emotions. I also get what you mean when you talk about not wanting to tell your parents. My parents never really seem to understand what goes on inside my head, so I never talk to them about my depression. However, you should find someone to talk to. I haven't found that person yet either, so don't feel like you need to talk right away. The small things that you've done do help, but like you said they are only temporary. I've read articles that say isolation can develope depression more. Even though it may seem hard, you should try to go out with your friends some time, or even just go walk around the mall, or the store. Just getting out can help your mind ease down. I personally like biking to Target( I know, basic lol), and walking around the store. Then if I'm up for it I treat my self to ice cream. What I'm saying is that your mind is gonna make the simplest things very difficult, but the only way to get better is to fight against the mind.
On the other hand, school has gotten completely out of hand for me as well. I've gotten very behind this year, so I know how you feel. I honestly don't know how to cope with procrastination, but I think for me listening to music, or doing school outside helps. I don't know what kind of school you're doing, but I'm doing online until next year. If you are doing school in person, try to tell your teacher or counseler that you can't seem to focus, and you need a little more time to complete stuff. It might seem embarresing, but it's the only way to get help in school. If you feel like they'll tell your parents, ask them not to. I know it's easier said than done, but it's gotta be done.
Overall, please just know that its not always gonna be a great time in life. I'm not gonna tell you that I did everything right and got better, cause I'm not better yet. And thats ok. You're not always gonna be ok, but if you get too depressed, please reach out to someone. It's better to get help and be embarresed than to keep everything inside of you until you can't handle it.
Hope this helps you a little :). If you need anything you can reply to this and I'll do the best I can. Thanks for reading all of this lol :)
Hello thank you for the long message! And the support! I found that talking with listeners when I'm overwhelmed makes me feel better just talk about random stuff that also makes me less lonely I don't know if it'll work for you but it sure works for me. And I too have online school.School might start physically in a month or so not sure but I don't think I'm brave enough to tell my teachers but thanks anyway for the kind support!
