Hi everyone...
Hello, I'm 14 turning 15 and I'm diagnosed with depression since 2019, my family, particularly my mom, take advantage of me saying that its impossible to have depression at such a young age...I'm struggling to cope with school, I've been self-loathing and its just really hard...I just need help...please... I really hope you have enough courage to enjoy your day...
Hi! As far as I know there is no magic age for depression. I started having symptoms when I was 12 but never got diagnosed. My family had a similar reaction to it and it just made me feel like my emotions were invalid. But I just want you to know that your emotions and your struggles and everything else you are going through right now is valid. Try to find a close friend or family member that you trust so you can open up about your depression. You could even talk to your high school counselor about it or really anybody on here. Venting can work wonders and take a load off your chest whenever you are in a slump. One thing I’ve noticed is how much depression affects my school work so I completely understand where you are coming from. I wish I had better advice for you but one of the best things you can do (from my experience) is to make yourself do something. It could be going for a walk, cleaning your room, literally anything. It might seem impossible at times but once you see something getting accomplished it will encourage you to do more. And please remember that you are awesome. I know you don’t feel like it but I promise you are. The world is kind of crazy right now which makes dealing with depression even more difficult but you are strong enough to keep going. You can push through this and one day you will see all of your hard work pay off. You’ve got this! ❤️
How are you doing kiddo?
