I really am struggling right now and am just finding a place where I can express what I truly feel.

So this year I decided to switch schools and in the first week in school I was really depressed and was culturally shocked because everytime during classes when reciting everyone could answer the teachers questions while I can't and I was very conscious since everyone in my class was like smarter than me since I'm only an average student and everytime when it's our last period (which was Statistics) I questioned myself on how did I pass this school and why did they accepted me (since the school I am in right now is one of the top schools in my country) and kept on thinking to myself that maybe I should've just stayed in my old school. And now since our first grading has been given I already warned my mom to not expect high grades from me at the moment and she said it was ok and that the important thing is that I enjoy my life in my new school and stuff, but when I told my mom about my grades and that I got.low scores in two of my subjects (even though it was a passing grade) she instantly got mad at me and kept on telling me about how I wasn't taking my education seriously and how I wasn't giving so much effort to my studies but she doesn't even know that everyday I stay up late to study even if I don't have any tests the following day and how I don't even have time to eat when I'm in school and what sucks is that even if I study so hard I still didn't pass in that certain test, and honestly I really thought to myself that I was going to give up even before our midterm

@Roseyviv

Hello, first of all, thank you so much for sharing this with us. And it seems like you are having a hard time adjusting to your new school and its valid to when you feel like everyone in the class are doing better than you. And I get a feeling that you are feeling like you dont kind of belong there? (Please do correct me if I am wrong) And it sucks when you are giving your best and still dont get the result and people dont see the effort you are putting in it. Have you tried explaining this to your mom? (If yes, how did it go? If not, do you think it will be helpful?) And what do you think about trying to talk to the teachers about it, maybe they will have some ideas on easier ways to study the certain subjects which could be helpful? (Its just a suggestion tho)

Before ending this, I wanted to highlight the fact that you got into that school, which means you are as deserving as anyone else to be there. Would love if you will keep us updated on how everything is going. Take care.
