Need some feedback
What do you do when you're too depressed to talk? Even just about the small things, like in school I can't even make friends. I just look around and dont see the point in anything. It sounds so stupid and dramatic when I actually say it but its been like this my whole life. I just never have any energy or motivation and at this point in my life it feels like the only thing thatll help is antidepressants but I cant get those
@nicePomegranate8363: It is important to remember that you don't have to feel motivated 100% of the time and it is okay to not want to interact with other. I also get into periods of time where it is hard for me to socialize. I typically start small and see how I feel.
If I have to attend a social event, I will typically try talking to only one person at a time so that I don't get too overwhelmed or exhausted. I always take it slow and take baby steps. I like to remind myself that tomorrow is a new day and I can try again another time when I'm not as down.

I'm curious as to why you can't try an anti-depressant. Do you have a support system? Some one who you can talk to, or as I do when I don't want or can't talk about what's going, I write it down and give it to the person I need help from. I am lucky that I have a really good support system of family and two close friends. If you don't have that, I would suggest searching for therapy, individual and group in your community or maybe even at your school. I personally was helped by group therapy tremendously. If money is an issue, see if you have a Catholic Charities near you. They can provide a lot of options on a sliding scale, and even help you with meds. The first steps are the hardest, but when you find the group, you're life will turn around and very soon you'll be smiling and having fun with friends. I wish you good luck and all the best.
Some people don't really understand what others got through. Either the dont know to react or that just say "not every thing is about you." If I'm not able to express the way I feel, then who is. Telling me that I can't express the way I feel isn't your choice but mine. How am I supposed to know that you're hurting if you don't talk to me about. I can't just magic assume. You were never there when I needed you, all you did was close the door on me. Honestly I'm at s point that I won't care anymore. You hurt me more than I already was. ~my friend
This is something I found about behavioural activation: it is a therapy especially designed for depression. I hope it is helpful!!
The symptoms of depression such as tiredness, lethargy, loss of interest, loss of motivation, loss of pleasure, and indecisiveness can lead to inactivity, and this often keeps the depression going or even make it worse. Also, because of the lack of motivation, a depressed person might begin to neglect everyday tasks and responsibilities at work or at home, and the list begins to pile up. This might result in them feeling guilty or thinking that they are ineffective or even, a failure. This will also worsen the depression. One of the ways of overcoming depression is to increase your level of activity. There is a lot of evidence that shows that the more people do, and the more pleasant activities they get involved in, the better they feel.
1. Even though there are a number of advantages in increasing your activity level, it may not be easy to get started. Often, this is because when you are depressed, you think negative thoughts such as I wont enjoy doing this, or Its too hard, or Ill probably fail at this too. These thoughts may stop you from getting started. Often the big mistake people make is trying to do too much too soon. When you are depressed, things that you usually dont even have to think about doing (when you are not depressed) can seem to require a huge amount of effort.
2. The idea is to start with small easy steps and begin with things you can do. Start with small steps and slowly build yourself up to the large tasks that seem unmanageable right now. For example, aim to get out of bed for 10 minutes, then slowly build up the amount of time you are out of bed for. Dont try to clean the whole kitchen – just aim to do the dishes. Sometimes it is easier to aim to do a task for a set period of time rather than trying to achieve a set amount. Read a book for 5 minutes rather than reading a whole chapter. Say you will spend 10 minutes weeding the garden rather than aiming to weed a certain area. In this way, it will be easier for you to achieve your goal
3. ALWAYS REMEMBER: In the beginning, the important thing is not what you do or how much you do, but simply the fact that you are DOING. Remember that action is the first step, not motivation, and youll soon find yourself feeling better!
