Hi everyone! I'm a new intern at 7 Cups and I have personally been depressed before. Because of my personal experience, I never want anyone else to feel the way that I did and I want to be support those who are going through the same thing I did. That said, if you're feeling depressed and need someone to talk to, just drop me a message! :)

Hi! I am Elle and I have ben suffering from depression for the past two years. I came here to seek help and advice because I really do not know what to do anymore. I recently moved to a new school in the hopes that it will be a healthy environment for me since in my previous school I did not feel very comfortable and it worsened my depression so i moved into my new school to improve my depression by finding new people who could be my friends but unfortunately this school worsened my social anxiety and depression. I am a loner and get bullied by my classmates for that. I sometimes see them whisper and look at me and when they see me they laugh so i get paranoid because i am thinking they are making fun of me. I just prefer being alone than being with them because I will then have to change myself because I have to fit in and like their cliques and all. I like the me I am now and I am afraid that I will not be me if I join them. My sister is telling me that I should get along with them and that I should stop being a loner. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Hi, my name's Trina, I'm new to 7 cups. I've been struggling with depression for about 5 years and at the moment I really need to be able to talk to people who understand what I'm going through.

"We all support each other through the darkness"....well then I think I'm in the right place :) You can call me Silver. I'm here because I've spent too many years living in my own head and turning a blind eye to the rest of the world, and to the rest of life. I'm often not very talkative but I'm a good listener and I'm here to find new perspectives and advice. I know that often the worst things can exist only inside of our minds, but I need ways to not let my mind run and ruin my life. I have a lot of regrets that I struggle with and I feel like I've missed out on a lot of things due to my social anxiety. I've noticed over the past few years that it's often very hard for me to feel happy. I don't know what true happiness feels like, and I think that if I were to feel it I would recognize it as something strange and different, not as something good. I think I have something called Dysthymia, which I understand to be a form of depression that persists daily, but on a "low" level that doesn't seem out of the ordinary. This seems to perfectly fit my personality. I've always been really quiet and introverted, I really struggle to talk to people in real life and I've grown to hate the idea of a "social life". I think that in real life I often come off as sad and depressed, but I also know that I spend way too much effort contemplating what other people think and see. I don't know if I can help that though because it's part of who I am. Somehow I also got the idea in my head that even though I have zero experience with friendships, a relationship with a special girl would be a really really good idea for me. Ouch. That's when reality crashed in and things really started to hurt. "You have to love yourself before you can love someone else", a friend tells me. I wish I had known that back in 2013. But that would probably explain why I have problems getting alnog with other people...I struggle to get along with myself.

@SilverRedd - Right on! I found a lot to relate to in your post. I think you are really self-aware and your renewed openness to finding some slice of wellness is amazing. I don't know your life, of course, but I think you're on the right track. Good luck!

Here's another quote I've always related to and maybe you will as well: "I hate mankind, for I think myself one of the best of them, and I know how bad I am." - Samuel Johnson -- Of course that's a big negative in its thinking, but definitely relatable!

Hello, I'm Unununium/ and or August. I pretty new to the website, still really trying to figure it all out. I struggle everyday with depression and anxiety; some days more than others. When I was young, I was told I was suffering from depression. Being a child with no clue as to how to make myself feel whole and not empty was hard. Now, I still do have my days when it's hard; but I suppose I've learned to... Live with it? or expect it? I'm not for sure how to really word it, oh well.
Anxiety is something totally new to me; and terrifying. I have no clue what exactly to do...
Anyway, I'm also a person! Someone who loves art and drawing, outdoors and camping, friends and family. Not to mention dogs, cats, birds, goats... well, I pretty much love any animal.
Thanks to whomever takes the time to read my intro, and it's nice to meet you!

I'm new to the community, my name is Heather. I'm married and have 2 beautiful daughters. Opening up is the hardest thing for me, I have reached out in the past for my depression only to be made to feel foolish for doing so. So talking about everything is hard for me because I've hidden it for so long. I've been battling depression sense I was 14 years old, I have dealt with self mutilation and 3 attempted suicides, in all honesty I'm tired of battling this and ready to give up any hope of ever getting any kind of peace .
