Hello. I'm diagnosed with MDD and anxiety. I'm on medications for almost 11 months now. Relapsed 2 times in the last 10 years. I hope I can find something beautiful in this community. Cheers!

Hi there. I'm new here. I'm 28. I've struggled with depression for over a year now. Therapy has helped some, but I am currently trying meds to balance things out. I have some great people in my life, but few of them know what depression is really like.

Nice to meet you all.

Hello, call me Moon, or Artemis, or whichever. My depression has gotten really bad this past three months, and I felt like I needed to seek help before any of my self-harm went beyond where I could fix it. I feel alone all the time, which is why I decided to join this site, hoping I could become passionate about people again.

Hello

I just joined, i thought i'd give something a go considering my problems arent getting better. I was a troubled child, I took a lot of party drugs when i turned 18 and drank an awful lot, im going to be 23 later this year and for the last 4 years i've had suicidal thoughts on and off. It comes in waves and sometimes isnt even triggered by something, it seems to be worse when something did trigger it.

I've self harmed quite a few times, even when i was younger i would bang my head again walls and tables and stab my arms with pencils and pens. Then i started hitting walls until my hands were shaking and bleeding, now ive started cutting, starving myself, punching myself.

I get very angry easily, and my emotions go crazy when i feel like this. Ive not gone to any therapists or specialists. When i was 10 i visited a professional, but I unknowingly answered with everything they wanted to hear, and no conclusion was made other than I might have ADHD which was soon thrown out by many others in my school as I grew older.

I'm here because I put myself here, no one would know ive done these things ever, everyone would call me a happy person without knowing. I have no close friends anymore, I just moved from the UK to Boston, MA.

I want to die, but I care about my parents feelings a lot. Particulary my mother, she did her best to get me where I am, maybe when her day comes I'll be able to have mine too.

Thanks, E

Hi everyone.. I've had depression nearly 2yrs now, I've been on medication for 4 months, doctor upped my dosage after 6 weeks as they weren't working... I still feel like they're not working. I'm currently waiting for an appointment to see a psychotherapist. I feel like I need help now... And I do wonder how bad does it have to get before one is admitted into a treatment centre/pysch unit... So I'm on here for some help to get me through while I wait for yet another therapist appointment

Hello,

My name is Alicja but you can call me Sky. I've been depressed for a long time, the last 5 years for sure. I was born with a physical disability, which at the same time isn't helping with the depression. Most of the time I'm just tired. I tend to feel a lot for other people, but not for myself. It's only when I fully focus on another person that I can get a break from myself, so I'm hoping that being on 7cups can help me help others while forgetting for a moment how I'm feeling. Pleased to meet you all!

Hello! I just joined 7Cups today and am already so in awe of the support and positivity. I've struggled with depression since I was roughly 14 (currently I am 23). However, the past year has been the biggest struggle for me and I've been trying my best to seek help, stay positive, and learn self-love! Which is what has brought me here. I hope to meet others and connect to the positivity! 💖

Hello !

I was first diagnosed with insomnia and anxiety when I was 2 years old. Apparently that's when my father's first symptoms appeared, and according to one of the many doctors I wasted the time of I am hypersensitive to my environment. She thinks I felt what nobody knew.

I don't know about this but I have memories of anxiety for as long as I can remember. Happiness too, glorious moments till the age of 11 when my father committed suicide, my grandfather died, my mother started drinking and my grandmother's Alzheimer's pulled all the stops. Yes, great timing everybody. I knew then that my world may collapse at any moment.

Then I was heavily bullied, the adults I had the courage to reach to turned a deaf ear because I had good grades so nothing was wrong(yes, punished for having good grades. Nothing made any sense anymore)

I was left with both self confidence and low self-esteem (cf supra) and got used by several men I thought were"the one". I was sexually assaulted twice but never complained. Anyway predators always win, it's a law of nature and experience had shown I was not considered worthy of being protected.

Today I have a partner, we bought our flat and were badly swindled. We are suing but it creates tensions between us as I do all the paperwork and am beginning to think that anyway, once again the predators will win and certainly depression is coming stronger than ever (on and off since I was 19). I just see no hope.

Hi.

I've had depression and anxiety since I was young. Been actively dealing with it for 8 years now. I am diagnosed and have tried 6 different types of medications and been to every type of therapy I could.

Finally on some medication that somewhat helps. But I keep relapsing. Having intrusive thoughts. Feeling worthless.

And I have my family but they aren't always supportive. So I mostly deal with it on my own. Which is hard.

I've took enough space. Sorry. Hope I can find some like minded people x

Most of my family has known at least one bout of depression but are not sympathetic with me.I spent hours cheering them up and now I am sick I'm on my own. This is the terrible injustice of depression. Most people who haven't undergone it think it's a scam or skiving excuse, and many who managed to get better think others didn't put in the effort.

Would it be the same with cancer? Renal failure?

Hi everyone! I guess technically since I joined on April 1st, I shouldn't be in this thread, but I couldn't find another one that I related to as well as this one. I have been through a lot of stuff in the last 3 to 4 years, and have a family history of severe depression. I just never thought that it would affect me. I've been struggling with depression for probably the last month or so, but off and on for the past few years. I've just only recently understood that what I've felt, the anger, tiredness, moodiness, severe anxiety, disinterest, were all part of depression.
