Hello everyone. I stumbled across this community of people and thought this might be a good place to start. A little bit about me. I am a Navy veteran and I suffer with adjustment disorder, depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. The biggest of the 3 I've been dealing with is my depression. Lately I've just been feeling very alone and, I guess you could say, less than human. I've been going to the VA for about 5 years for mental health and it can only take me so far, so I've been looking to get better mental health treatment outside of the VA. I've gone to some very dark places in my head and done some regrettable things because of it. I'm trying very hard to hold onto optimism and hope that on the other side of this is the happiness I am seeking. Anyway, it's getting late. Thanks for checking this out if you stopped by :)

Hey there @wubbalubbadubdub89

Welcome to the community! I'm glad you've joined us. I'm aware that depression (and likely other mental illnesses too) can make you feel very alone but I promise you you're not. We're all here for you. You're not any less of a human because of your illnesses. I'm proud of you for looking into other treatments. I hope you find something that works for you soon. There is definitely happiness out there for you and I know you can reach it. I hope our community can help you out in some way, even if it just proves that you're not alone. Good luck.

Have a nice day! heart

@wubbalubbadubdub89 I'm glad you found us! There's some daily check-in threads in the forums here that are great for venting when you need to. I hope you'll join in and check in with us sometimes. I'm glad you're looking for help. That's hard to do, but it's important to know when to do that.
