Tips for getting motivated to study?
Hi everyone. I’m Jordan. I’m new here and kinda getting a feel for everything.
I have so much work to do, and I spent all day yesterday in bed doing nothing. I stayed awake all night doing nothing. I have classes all day today and I’m so behind that I do poorly, and doing poorly makes me unmotivated to catch up. I’m in a negative feedback loop and I don’t know how to break free.
I love doing the math and science; at least I used to, and I do whenever I actually engage with the material. I’ve been missing a lot of my friends that branched off to other classes this semester, and I just feel so isolated and that everything just isn’t the same anymore. I want to do well, and I enjoy doing it, but I just feel stuck and frustrated.

Hi,
It's wonderful to have you here, I'm so happy <3
In case you haven't joined our tag list, you can do here. That way you can get updates from our community.
Anyways, I can relate to your struggles.
When I was in high school, there were days I would feel so unmotivated to study, then I would feel bad that I was unmotivated to study which would keep me from studying. The self sabotaging loop.
Of course, I don't exactly know what you're going though since we have different experiences.
What helped me ignoring my intrusive thoughts, and remembering why studying was important (honestly when tests were coming up the anxiety of failing was enough to keep me going)
So here's an idea. Why don't you use this thread as an accountability journal? You can write about the days as they go by, and track your progress.
I feel really sad you feel this way. I'm sure you miss your friends, now that they're in different courses you might feel alone.
It was nice to meet you. You can check out our check-in forums, if you ever want to express yourself and have someone listen.
Have a good weekend.
