really needed to vent, wondering if anyone can relate
hi guys, i’m just going through a shit storm.
im 22 and i from depression and anxiety as well as mild bipolar and have for most of my life.
i've been married for 2 years, i had a baby 6 months ago.
a week ago i flipped out on my husband, someone in his family made a heroin joke which is a topic close to home for me and even though he was trying to console me i had an episode and snapped at him cursing and screaming.
he told me he was done, and hasn’t touched me since. we still live together, with his family, and i’m basically just a charity case. i can’t work because i had to sell my car, all i do is take care of the baby and clean and even that is just considered what i’m supposed to be doing anyways. i love him and i don’t understand how he can just walk by me like i’m nothing. he talks to me and is friendly enough but won’t touch me, doesn’t spend time with me unless it’s briefly for our son, he stopped doing everything, doesn’t say i love you, doesn’t sleep in bed with me, i just don’t understand. i’ve apologized profusely and meaningfully and while i respect his feelings i’m not over him and trying to pretend gets me no where except hurt. he didn’t even want me to stay in the house but i convinced him it was best for our son. he’s really done and i’m really heartbroken and feeling alone and lost. no one really knows but i know he put the date he can file for divorce in his calendar he deleted all our pictures i’m sure he’s taking to other females i just don’t understand how it all ended so quick. how do you live with someone you’re in love with, it’s slow torture. i don’t know what the best thing to do is and frankly i don’t have a lot of options. feeling hopeless and helpless.
Hi @helloFarm2954. I'm so sorry that you're going through these relationship struggles. I think it's important for you to talk to people you feel close to, besides your husband, about the struggles you're currently going through. Being alone through any struggle in life isn't a good idea in my opinion, and talking to someone you feel comfortable with can make things feel a ton better. You can also maybe suggest to your husband the idea of getting couples therapy to help in sorting out any issues. Lastly, it's important to remember to have hope that things will work out well in the end. Even if we don't see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's still important to believe that we'll somehow reach it. Hang in there and stay strong. May the odds be in your favor!
