What support/aids/resources have helped you with managing the impact of your disability?

Are there any that you wish you had but haven't accessed yet?

Hey there! Luckily that we live in the time period that we do, the options for support and aid are much more vast and helpful, plus more effective! There are lots of medicines available for various types of disabilities, however to keep in mind that helpful medicines may come with some not-so-fun side effects, unfortunately. If you plan on taking this route, it's always to best to consult your primary care doctor prior to starting to make sure this is the right treatment plan for you, especially if you're considering over-the-counter medicine. Therapy can also help to take a differeent approach, as therapists can offer some very helpful coping mechanisms. As a fact, I'm about to start the therapy process for copin with my Tourette's, so you won't be alone if you decide to try therapy too! Depending on the severity of your disability, it may be better than medicine since there isn't harmful side effects. Just remember, before you start any kind of treatment path, therapy or medicine, it's best to consult your doctor first since they'll know what's best for you. Finding a support group is also essential! As far as financial assistance goes, there's lots of programs ran at the federal and local level, and asking a government worker (someone in your city hall, state capitol, etc.) may be your best bet, plus just a simple search online can do the job as well. "(your location) disability support and aid." I hope this helps and best of luck! Stay awesome!
