6th October is world cerebral palsy day.

World Cerebral Palsy Day is a movement of people with Cerebral Palsy and their families, and the organisations that support them, in more than 75 countries. Its vision is to ensure that children and adults with Cerebral Palsy (CP) have the same rights, access and opportunities as anyone else in our society. It is only together, that we can make that happen. You can read more about world cerebral palsy day you can read here.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of permanent movement disorders that appear in early childhood. Signs and symptoms vary among people and over time. Often, symptoms include poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles, and tremors. There may be problems with sensation, vision, hearing, swallowing, and speaking. Often, babies with cerebral palsy do not roll over, sit, crawl or walk as early as other children of their age. Other symptoms include seizures and problems with thinking or reasoning, which each occur in about one third of people with CP. While symptoms may get more noticeable over the first few years of life, underlying problems do not worsen over time.[

I did not know there was a Cerebral Palsy Day!

My counsin´s son was born with ceberal palsy, he was a little 3 year old fighter. Passed away March this year. May he rest in peace. He is missed by his mommy, but where ever he is, I am sure things are better than his life on earth. He could never sit up, always had his hands in little balls, could not talk, barely could digest food, only liquids. Constantly in the hospital, even a cold was dangeours for him.

@CoffeeCompassion

Hello there CoffeeCompassion, sorry to hear about the struggle your relatives experienced. It sure has been challenging to see him suffering and hard for parents to face that pain.
