Chronic headache (muscle tension headache)
hi everyone,
does everyone have headaches? Mine is chronic. How do you deal with it? I'm going crazy

I feel you! I often have migraines. I noticed that I have them the most when I feel stressed so I am watching out for early signs of stress and then trying to reduce it by taking regular breaks and doing things I like. When I already have a migraine I try to relax and sometimes taking a nap or going for a walk helps.
Perhaps some of these tips might be helpful as well: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/7-tips-for-easing-your-tension-headaches/; https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/tension-headache/in-depth/headaches/art-20047631
I’m sorry to hear that. The suggestions above are great. Exercise actually helps. Like a light walk. Another thing that helps is magnesium. Start taking it regularly. That completely stopped my migraines. When I’m having one and I really don’t want to use pills I use a muscle rub. Caffeine is also great for headaches if you can drink that.
@globalBraid3744 this is a great reference, thank you. I’ve recently started having tension headaches and was prescribed some medication as well as daily exercise and also relaxation strategies. I think a headache diary is also helpful in becoming aware of triggers as noted in the reference.
@hardworkingBeechwood6063 Thinking of you, chronic pain can feel quite debilitating. Reach out to a listener if you need to ❤️ I hope you are on your way to finding the answers you need.

I completely forgot about the headache diary! I agree that it can be very helpful :)
Do you find exercise helpful? I feel very hesitant to try it as I do not like to exercise so I am scared it might do more harm.
For me, simply walking and swinging my arms helps to release tension in shoulders, and also stretches. Everyone is different and I have seen different specialists for my tension headaches. But yes I find it does help!

Hiii....I'm.so sorrry to hear that....I have the same muscle tension headache mostly everyday...I deal with it by listening to relaxing sound videos on YouTube such as rain or sea waves sound video.... and have a cup of coffee....it relieves me...I hope it helps u too.....God bless
@hardworkingBeechwood6063 i think you might have migraines, it's a severe headache or throbbing pain on one side of the head (you might not have this if your whole head hurts). if you think you might have a migraine, turn off all the lights, put something either hot or cold (preferably cold) on your head, drink a lot of either water or caffeine, you should also take a nap. trust me all of that helps. you should also take pain killers if it's really bad

speaking from experience, if pain meds don't work anymore, i recommend getting it checked immediately. it could be your eyes, ears, blood pressure, etc.
but for home remedies, what worked for me is ice compress, minty smell, and sleep.
It might be related to your blood pressure or dehydration. Please make it check as soon as possible.
