HPV
My partner suspects they have HPV. The symptoms are visible, there is definitely something abnormal going on. I've done some research on it and it says 50% of people have the virus in their lifetime and it goes away on its own, but then there's a chance it could lead to cancer in all different areas.
I'm just trying to reach out to anyone that has come in contact with this virus personally for some guidance with our next steps.

You are absolutely right that some form of HPV is ridiculously common in the general population. If your partner is having an outbreak, your partner isn't at all unusual in that, though you both are completely within reason and your rights to get tested and to make sure whoever tests you knows what you're looking for.
I want to reiterate. HPV is suuuuuper common, and not necessarily a life-ruiner. Do either of you have access to someplace to get tested so you can know for sure what'd make sense for you to do next?

We both do not have health insurance but they had gotten themselves looked at before and the doctor said "it could be nothing or it could be hpv". Gotta love free clinics huh. But since then it has gone away and come back. I just don't know what it do.
@JaneDoeSmith Standard STI tests won't always include HPV, which is one reason I wanted to make sure I have you a heads up about explicitly requesting that any tests you get include it. It's super weaksauce.
