Type 1 Diabetes Research Project Question
Hello everyone, I am new here but I thought this would be a good place for asking questions for my research project for school. I have type 1 Diabetes myself. With that out of the way, what are your experiences with type 1 Diabetes in your daily lives? How does type 1 Diabetes throw obstacles in your lives? Don't feel pressured to answer of course, and I will not include any information besides your experiences you share, (no reference to usernames, etc.)

Hello
Personally, I am 20 and this is hard to think about getting the injections, this is a bad moment quite scary and sometimes painful so I don't do it as much as I need to. The consequences are feeling bad kinda like dizzy and tired and then guilty... In general, I only do my injections at night and not during the day... (just to precise that have quite a little insulin needs compared to most people)
My blood sugar levels overall are not that bad...
I don't know if you have particular questions ? I'm not sure what to say
I am 19, and have ADHD as well, and for a while I had completely untreated T1D.
My blood sugar number was always high, so I felt constantly confused, underdeveloped (mostly socially and emotionally), and completely lacking any self awareness. I shut down and avoided issues and responsibilities, never stood up for myself, felt alone no matter what was going on, felt uncomfortable when people would be emotional with me and felt uncomfortable showing emotions, it was awful.
Thanks to my ADHD medications, I focused more on my diabetes and my recent A1C was 6.1! Apparently better than some people without diabetes!
I stress about my diabetes a lot, which in turn, just makes it worse, and that makes me MORE stressed, and it all circulates and snowballs. But I never knew how much high blood sugar actually affected me. It was continuously in the 13.0-20.0 range for like, a year. Luckily it didn’t get into my hands, feet or eyes, and I just got tested and don’t have ketones, and I’m never gonna be that unregulated again, who knows how long it would have taken for those highs to really affect me.
