Addiction and Disability
I used to be addicted to video games. I didn't realize in that time (when i was student) that using video games to award myself for accomplishments during the day or week can cause the addiction. It can be even more addictive if you are disabled as people with disabilities have even more struggles in the life and thus need more awarding and coping mechanisms. It is important to develop awarding self for accomplishments which don't addict, don't take too much time when you are short on time and don't cost money if you are short on money (and warning - also spending money itself or items (food for example) you buy with money can be addictive). Has anyone any suggestions with what can we award self at the end of the day what isn't addictive?
@gentleSun78 Thanks for sharing this.
Admitting you have an addition to something is hard.
But it is even harder to get the right kind of support and sometimes treatment.
Proud of you for sharing this,Sun.
