Appeal to acceptance, compassion and understanding

Greetings,

Ever since I joined 7cups I noticed one thing that I would like to share with you. I noticed one person (I'm not going to mention names not to put the person in jeopardy) with a certain mental dissability (again I'm not going to specify the disability for anonimity reasons) being bullied, mocked or even mobbed when trying to integrate in other chat rooms than say dissability. That person first clearly stated their disability for others to take notice and be aware but noone cared about this polite heads-up and continued the harassment.

I found the situation very sad and revolting. I tried to meet this person and despite their mental dissability they were pleasant and agreeable and very polite, we talked about food and places and other interesting subjects.

First, I want to make an appeal to everyone on 7cups accept, understand and show compassion and include and respect people with mental dissabilities especially if they say so beforehand and give a polite heads-up. They have the right to be here as much as any of us.

Second, I want to ask everyone if they engaged in conversations with persons with mental disabilities and how did it go?

Third, I want to ask the persons with mental disabilities if they felt excluded or agressed and to tell their storries best they can.
