Awareness Days - April is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month

I am going to try to cover many of the disease/disorder/condition awareness days. Some have days, weeks, and months so when possible I will try to hit a specific day if I'm aware of it. Also, different countries sometimes recognize conditions at different times of the year, I'll try to get the international date if it's an option.

I hope to learn a bit more about the chronic illnesses people face through this process.

If you or someone you know has one of these conditions, feel free to educate us, share a struggle, or provide a tip that has helped.

For today, I am recognizing that in the US, April is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month.

Sarcoidosis results in inflammatory cells forming nodules in an organ, most often the lungs. The cause is not know. Symptoms vary based on the area affected, but fever, fatigue and weightloss are experienced by about 1/3. As the lungs are often affected, a cough is also a typical symptom.

Thank you Wonderful,

Mr brother has this illness and could use the support. I had no idea that this was here. I appreciate it so much. I will let him know and ask him to join again.

Thank you for supporting those with chronic illnesses.

Thanks so much for this! I have actually been diagnosed with this, though due to testing and the fact that there is not a lot known about the disease, the diagnosis is uncertain.

Grace, you are right. There is not too much information on this illness. I sent my brother the link because he has this illness and hopefully, he will sign on and can talk with you about his experiences. Is it ok if I give him your name to message?

Sure, I'd love that. I don't have very much knowledge on it myself, but I'd love to discuss it with him.
