How is situation for disabled people in your country?

I am from Slovenia, which is a country in central Europe.

In my country we have got many accomodations for disabled people on different levels:

- education: disabled children have got status of children with special needs, they get extra help at school. They can enter univeristy without needing to care about enrollment limit (number of students who can go to a program at a faculty - if there are too many candidates, grades at upper secondary school are important, but not for disabled students), etc.
- employment - they are protected from firing, can get accomodations at workplace, can be given only work they can do (for example, deaf people can't phone and thus they needn't to use voice phone). If someone can't work for 8 hours but can work for 4 - 7 hours they can work for 4 - 7 hours and get a special allowance for missing work hours. Employers are required to employ 2 - 6 % of disabled people in all the workforce. Otherwise they need to pay the contribution to special government fund which pays for accomodations for disabled employed people.
- people who are unable to work and have enough retirement insurance coverage can get disability retirement benefits. If people who can't work, haven't got enough retirement insurance coverage, they can get special allowance for disabled.
- for disabled people who need caregivers, we have got personal assistance
- for deaf people sign language interpreting is available at general government offices (police, courts, administrative units, schools at all levels, including university, healthcare at all level (only if expenses are covered partially or 100 % by obligatory healthcare insurance), centres for social work. etc) for free. Deaf people can also use 30 hours of sign language interpreting per year in all private events (trips, church, etc). Also call centre for deaf people which facilitate deaf people phoning exist.
- disabled people are exempt of some taxes or pay them at lower rate (tv license, tourist tax, lower income tax for disabled children and for severely physically disabled and blind people and people with multiple disabilities, etc).
- there are also some accomodation requirements by law - accomodated parking slots are required by all supermarkets, new and renovated buildings need to be accessible to wheelchair users and certain % of flats need to be accessible to wheelchair users, etc.

There are also many more provisions for disabled people in my country which are specific for certain disabilities.

My country also signed international convention UN on right of disabled people.
