Recruiting Volunteers for 7 Cups' Autism Awareness Celebration April 28-30th

Good day everyone. As some of you may already know, April is International Autism Awareness month. 7 cups is planning a site-wide celebration of the occasion which will take place from April 28-30th. We currently have several activities in the works including forum discussions, group support room discussions, and feed posts. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help out with each activity. Both members and listeners are welcome for each position and you are able to sign-up for as many activities as you wish. Presently, the following positions are open:

1. Autism Stereotypes and Stigmas forum discussion

-Looking for 2-4 volunteers to write information and discussion questions.

-Time commitment: Approximately 1 hour of research and writing prior to April 28th.

2. Autism AMA/Q&A forum discussion

-Looking for a minimum of 3 volunteers to share their experiences and answer autism-specific questions from the 7 cups community.

-Volunteers for this position are required to have personal experience with autism in some way. Examples include being on the autism spectrum themselves, having a friend or family member either with an autism spectrum disorder themselves or are a parent or caregiver of someone with autism, being a parent or caregiver of someone with autism, being a professional support to people with autism, etc.

-Time commitment: Ongoing from April 28-30, you pick your hours of availability but ideally we ask for a minimum of 1 hour spent answering questions and we ask volunteers to monitor the forum when able to for incoming questions from community members.

3. Chatroom discussions

-Looking for 1 leader and 1 co-leader per discussion.

-Potential topics include: Understanding Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, Your Autism and You, Autism and Anxiety, Autism and Depression, Autism and Addiction, Autism Families, Autism Caregivers Support.

-Anyone is able to be a co-leader. Leaders are listeners with specific requirements. Pm me for more information.

-Time commitment: 1 hour per discussion, possibly more depending on whether or not volunteers would like to write their own questions for their discussion.

4. Feed posts

-Looking for a minimum of 2 volunteers to create and add autism awareness posts that prompt the community to interact with one another.

-Hashtags to be utilized for these posts are #autismawareness #ASDawarenessmonth #disability

-Time commitment: 1 hour or less depending on the number of posts volunteers create.
