I check to see if my keys are in my pocket at least 3 or 4 times before leaving my house. Yet I still somehow lock myself out of my house about once a month.

I'd be better off having my dog hold my keys is what my poor coworker who lives nearby who has been woken up at 2 in the morning by a bleary eyed staggering me mumbling something about keys being missing whilst wearing only one shoe.

@DaveMcGrath

LOL Dave ! laugh

Does it happen because the habit to check is sometimes skipped or do keys get missed somewhere?

@BeyondTheInvisible

I check them by taking them out of my pocket, looking at them, and putting them back. Sometimes I put them down on a table next to me or in a drawer without thinking.

@DaveMcGrath I do this too and also for my wallet and phone. I joke around about it being a little dance routine with the kiddos I work with. Do the keys, wallet, phone dance!

I have a strange habit of tapping my pockets every 15 minutes while I'm out, regardless of if there is anything in them. It's really strange and I don't know why I do it. It might be similar to the post above from @DaveMcGrath because I used to always do that to check my keys hadn't fallen out of my pocket, just that it might've got stuck in my head!

Hi @Harieo !

Interesting, would be nice to know why indeed!

Well, as far as your habit does not bother you, i suppose it is okay ! smiley

@TCo

Hello TCo !

So you walk back and forth, is it to concentrate on something? Like to think and reflect ?

@BeyondTheInvisible

I think it's because I'm producing so much adrenaline that I have to let off energy constantly :P

I sleep with a giant stuffed platypus. He helps ease my dizziness and makes me feel grounded and safe at night. I also take him along to music festivals and other events when doing peer mental health support. He's helped to calm down many people who are having challenging psychedelic experiences and panic attacks.
