Needing SSI
If someone could message me or talk to me here that is on SSI that would be awesome I've come to a point where I need SSI which is hard to face but also have worried about what would happen if I were in the wrong state of mind and decide to for some reason get off of disability to work while hypomanic or something like that. It would mainly be cool to know there are a community of people like me that need SSI and while I'm well aware that there are people who need SSI at the same time I really do not know those people or have barely had a chance to talk to them. My local crisis line likes to refer to the thought process I'm going through as ruminating however that is not the case I'm scared stressed sad upset etc and have not received any support from someone on SSI. It amazes me that our state does not have groups either onlline or in person for people who require this level of assistance as people on this program are often struggling the most. Also think of it this way if someone was told they had something just as the inability to hear they would want support from someone going through the same issues as do I.

I am sorry to hear what you are going through; the process was also very emotional for me so that I can relate. It was a slow process, but I did get approved for SSDI. Some of your concerns are legal, like what would happen if you went back to work for a short time, and I am not going to answer that, but I do think that there are some provisions to allow people to try to work and if it does not work out the benefits are restored. You will have to research the details yourself or see an attorney. Have you already applied? Have they given you any information about what to expect?
