Sometimes when I get overwhelmed I try to think of eating a piece of cake but something is looking forward to taking me out of that mindset of overwhelming my mind with what is going on. What is something that helps you calm down?
@Hopeforfuture12 It must be very tough for you. Because i don't know your situation in detail and which disability do you have, i can't give you an exact advice. But i can suggest you to seek some support in a support group for your disability if it exists, or even n disabiliy association (a formal nonprofit charitable company whose intent is to help people with disabilities - maybe even your disability). They can give you resources, guides, they maybe have any people who can help you with everyday tasks if you need any, etc. Also government can have any programs - you can consider looking at any accomodated work settings, maybe any cash and non cash benefits, etc.I hope that you will have a lot of luck finding right solution for yourself.
@Hopeforfuture12 Oh, i feel you and your struggles. It must be very hard for you.
There are some options you can try.
Can you maybe try some breathing exercises? Deep breathing. You can try this exercise: inhale quickly with open mouth, belly needs to get inflated but chest must not get inflated, then exhale slowly through your nose.
Can you try to focus on your surrounding and try to name the objects you see in the place when you get overwhelmed? It can ground you and distract you from your thoughts a bit. Then, can you maybe focus on what you have to do to cope with different situation? Maybe perform your work, etc? Would it be feasible to you?
