People without disabilities have it easy
I'm telling you, I really think people who do not have any disabilities have an easy life. With a disability, you have to deal with so many hassles, so many UNNECESSARY hassles! I use a wheelchair and have had so many medical issues that need attention. Now I know there are things that need our attention like medical issues but there are so many that don't and your parents are always telling you that you need to do this and do that when you don't need to do this. I have a padded shower chair and the seat has a tear and my dad tells me, "you need to get a new shower chair." Well I check my bottom every day to make sure there's no sores. There are none. I don't know how my bottom is missing the tear but apparently it is somehow so I don't have a sore because of a tear on the shower chair. So why should I need to get a new shower chair? Then my seat cushion leaked (of gel that's inside of it) so it has to be replaced. I got two old seat cushions and both are foam while this one I got ripped and leaked of gel and caused a mess. The two old foam cushions never caused a problem so I decided to use that one then my mom tells me I need a new seat cushion even the same kind that leaked because "I gained weight"! The old one I got is foam, so it's soft and not hard so what's wrong with that? You avoid sores by sitting on something soft, right? Common sense, hello?? She doesn't care how soft it is, only that I get a new one with the gel in it because "I'm used to it". Yes I'm used to it but I got the foam cushion as a back-up and for what? Apparently no reason! So why did I keep the foam cushion because I "gained weight"? I only gained a few pounds in the last 3 years since I got this new cushion, she act like I gained a thousand pounds! How about her? She's not exactly petite either and I don't tell her what to do with her body! I'm over 35 years old and my parents still tell me what to do because they think they can and they do it because I have a disability! Then she's telling me excuses to get a new one when I told her, "the softer the better" because you're not supposed to have a hard surface to sit on when you have sensitive skin on your bottom. So she tells, "well that depends on the quality and the density of the cushion." Bullshit! That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my whole life! She's just trying to give me a hard time. My parents are always trying to give me a hard time and I don't believe this "they're doing it because they love you" stuff. Parents who love you don't give you a hard time all the time whenever they get a chance to do it! Finally, I can't get out of the house easily, at least not whenever I want to. We do have a service locally but you have to call ahead 24 hours in advance. So I have to wait til tomorrow if I want to go somewhere?? People who can just drive around anywhere don't have to wait that long. I do have the physical ability to drive with some adjustments like hand controls in a van but I never learned to drive because of anxiety about it. Anyway, because of my anxiety and disability (I need a van rather than a car because it's easier to just get in a van without transferring and the van costs $50,000!), I need public transportation and I only have two options: Use a service that requires you to wait 24 hours before you can go anywhere or use Lyft but guess what? I tried Lyft, I did choose "Access" on my app to get a wheelchair-accessible vehicle but when I got a car to show up, the driver did not have a vehicle that was equipped with a lift or ramp so after he cancelled the ride, I tried again with another driver and same thing! She also showed up with no lift or ramp in the vehicle. I tell you, people who do not have a disability have an easy life. If you do not have a disability, be glad you don't and don't wish you had one because you think people with disabilities get some pity whenever they want someone to pity them. I'd rather not live with a disability at all. I won't reveal my disability but I hope they find a cure and when they do, I'll be the first one up to hear all about it and go for it, whatever I have to do to get cured!
I think life is hard. None of us get through it without a few scars. some of us face challenges because we are disabled, some of us face other challenges.
