Dealing with increased pain again after having had a break from it for so long: A tale of perspective
Hey all,
So I've popped into this forum before and mentioned my cerebral palsy, chronic pain, and flareups in the winter.
Weeeeell, said flareups can also occur from isolated neck/back spasms, which thankfully, are few and far between thanks to my weight loss and keeping my body in shape.
But yeah, the point of this post is perspective, because I hadn't had one of these isolated spasms in probably months. Until a few days ago, that is.
And I have to say that my perspective to the increased chronic pain is different this time around. In the sense that I feel like my gratitude for my pain-free (or just less pain) days has increased. Mainly because I had that extended break and now I'm dealing with what used to be the usual.
At any rate, I guess my question to you all would be (whether you deal with chronic pain or not) has there been an event of pain in your life that affected your perspective and caused you to have more gratitude towards certain things in your lives?
@sereneSunset26, I identify with the question you asked. Yes. I am grateful for the little breaks I get from the various issues that troubles me. Over the years , it also helps to increase my appreciation of chances, people , changes ... that I see along my life as I live it.
@sereneSunset26 I have psoriasis flare-ups that tend to bleed and itch but I try to take oatmeal baths and moisturize a LOT

I've known a few people in my life who have had psoriasis; it does not sound fun to manage, at all. If you don't mind me asking, how intrusive would you say the condition is in your life? From my own perspective from having a chronic condition, anything that we have to deal with everyday can definitely feel overwhelming.
