Do you have CRPS?
Guest/Members:
I did my best to learn as much I could from a medical info website, it is in the "What Is CRPS?" thread.From what I understand each case is different, and very painful. For that I am so sorry. Please share below how you are effected by it. Which limbs, meds you take for the pain, and treatments you use.
Hello
My name is casscub i am 14 and i have CRPS. I was diagnosed with it in July on the 23rd 2014. It originally started in my left hip but has now moved down into my left leg as well as my left hip now. I am currently on 7 different medication none of which are helping to ease the pain. My CRPS currently affects my ability to walk, sleep, move about, wear nice clothing, going out with friends and family. I cant even go swimming anymore because i have a sensitivity to water. At the moment they are going to try me on a course of physio which if its effectvie then it may be life long physio if it helps me. One of the other types of treatments was to try heat packs and ice packs however for me these were too painful because of the sensitivity. My experiance with the pain is really horrible and is like i am being constantly stabbed with really hot pins and needles. At the same i have ended up doubling over with the pain as well and sometimes passing out because its just so bad my body can not cope with the pain. An affect of the CRPS is that i have lost most of the muscle in my left leg due to not being abe to use my left leg becaue of the pain level.
Some thing that may help you to understand my experience with it that i have been on crutches since January after my hip dislocated at school.
If you want to know more then feel free to ask as i am happy to share.
@casscub

I was diagnosed with this on May 20th 2013. I went to work instead of my college graduation. I am a workaholic. I want my masters but now I can't with all the tests to take, I feel stupid because I can't pass them. I fell on May 11, 2013. graduation day. Right foot/ankle. I've been in this same room since diagnosed. Sleeping on a couch because I kick in my sleep. my bed has too much room and i have to build a "foot fort".
The sensitivity is getting better. I was able to walk in the grass barefoot the other day. I can walk, but not far, and not for long. I try to do all I can around the house so I don't feel worthless. I want to earn my keep. I also want to earn my money, and not have a hand-out from the government. but I am thankful because i can't afford my medicine.
I have bipolar disorder with psychosis and this whole long ordeal has triggered swings and delusions. I am not the person to go to the doctor every time I cry or sneeze. I'll be dying of cancer and refuse to see the doctor. But at this moment in time I have been hearing 6 voices. I have pains in my back from the way I walk. The doctor said I should still be on crutches, but I refuse. I dream about running and riding bikes and hiking, ect.
Have you ever read "The Metamorphosis"? I feel like the main character, Gregor. He wakes up and is a bug. He's never missed a day of work in his life. He just wakes up as a bug and can't get out of bed. Eventually his boredom and feelings of worthlessness catch up with him. he had big plans as well. He ends up climbing the ceilings and walls for entertainment.
So, I'll introduce myself as "Gregor the Bug". (Although the German translation is "vermin" and not "bug").
I was diagnosed back in march, but it started for me back in September, and I kind of knew all along what it was. I'm 21. It is in my right foot. In september I attempted suicide and was in a week long coma where I laid pretty still on my back and it put a lot of pressure on the sciatic nerve resulting in RSD/CRPS. I was absolutely devestated to get this digagnosis. I have had three sympthetic nerve blocks in my lumbar region, and about 7 weeks of physical therapy, and I'm on 300mgs of lyricatwice a day... max dose. And it's gotten a bit better with these things, but still really barely liveable, I can still barely walk, and not really walk in a manner that is stable without a cane. I wore real shoes and socks for the first time in eight months just a few days ago. So it's slow progress, but I guess it's progress. It is just hard.
If any of you ever need someone to talk to, PLEASE message me, I absolutely LOVE to hear from other sufferers of CRPS because it lets me know I am not alone. We can get through this together, guys!

Hey it looks like you ve deleted your account. Contact me if you need answers. Hope you are all fine.
I have crps diagnosed on May 5, 2016 in my right wrist from a sprain, the result of a fall figure skating. I was a competitve figure skater, but haven't been on the ice since my diagnosis. I was in grade 12 at the time and decided to go straight to university after high school (september of 2016). So its been quite an interesting past couple of years. At least now everything has started to settle down (not the pain, just my life).
