I am glad that my country has always used subtitles in movies. It helps learn new languages but it helps the hearing impaired too. Which is still sad though is that sign language is very rarely used in news broadcasts, I know that experienced hearing disability persons are very good at lip reading but it is an inconvenient for those new to the condition...
