hi there @Willard45

Im truly very sorry to learn about your new diagnosis, this must of became a huge shock to you. I can't pretend to know what you are going through because I have the use of my hearing, however I do have to live with a condition myself.

The advice I can offer you, is to gather all your information from the doctors and research your condition, process the information, once you understand the medical science behind it, you can then process it and begin to accept the changes and plan your future. There is no need to allow your condition to define you as a person, here, right now is where you retrieve your hidden strengh, the strengh you never even knew you had.

Its all about ability not disability and that's what's important.

I found from my own experience that friends and family act in this way because they too need educating on your new diagnosis, and probably dont know how to react around you, this will change, take time out, speak to them and communicate your feelings so they understand things don't have to change.

Take care my friend and stay strong okay💪💪

@Willard45 I don't know the depth or degree of your hearing loss, but i also have hearing loss. They said it is a hereditary kind. I remember that my grandmother was profoundly hard of hearing and no matter what hearing aid they tried, it was never enough. I can't imagine how lonely it was for her to not be able to hear her husband in the same room. But now I will likely find out. I am sorry for what you are going through. Thank you for being brave and posting your message.. It was the first I saw of another having hearing issues. Somehow your post made me feel validated. Thank you.
