Rude roommate.
My roommate drives me nuts. I absolutely despise people who turn up their TV &/or gaming to movie theatre levels when there is no necessity for it, ie., when they do it just for the sake of doing it. It's not like he can't hear it & there's nothing to drown out--he just does it to be a jerk.
I'm already going deaf; I don't really need assistance in that department. This is normally a dealbreaker for roommate situations--& the only pet peeve that sends me directly up to a 10 on a scale of 1-10--but this man is also my friend & longtime caregiver. I have some unique needs that can be difficult to attend to, & he attends to them nonetheless, without charge for that matter. I'm not in a position to move out right now..
It seems a trivial thing & I ignored it...but now I have his video game sounds ringing in my ears all day, every day.

I am sorry you're having such a difficult time - i hope this has improved for you and is there anything you enjoy doing that could distract you and help take your mind off thing?
Keep Fighting - Joy <3
@optimalrest Ast time I was in hospital I been in a two bed ward with a man who lost hos leg to amputation...he was not deaf either but he used to leave the tv at max and it drove even the nurses crazy, I do not know what it was in his mind, adrenaline seeking, attention seeking (he slept through it all) or simply no explanation at all...
So I talked to him and asked him if I could turn the volume down and he was ok with that, he simply did not realise he was bothering people...
You may try to talk nicely to your friend and explain that the volume is bothering...
@optimalrest
If he does not want to be reasonable and understand, fimd out the model of his TV, order online a remote for it and that puts you in control of the sound, it would drive him crazy not knowing why the sound goes down all of a sudden😂😂😂 mess with his mind a bit😉
