I think I might have anorexia but I just don
Since I was 9, I have only eaten one meal a day and most of the time nothing; mainly because I didnt have food in my house but sometimes just because I wasnt really hungry and that I didnt think I deserved it.. everyone has always told me that I should eat something more but since Ive been doing it for so long, its kinda just stuck with me. Ive tried multiple times to eat three meals a day or even two but the guilt I felt after doing so was so great that I couldnt help but breakdown and hurt myself because I hate myself. Ive never been diagnosed with it because my dad just tells me then eat something and that I should stop saying I have things. Idk does it sound like I may have it? And how would I go about helping myself?
@intelligentPark6429 I am not an expert, but it seems to me that if one meal a day suits you, and you have eaten only one meal a day since the age of 9, then it would be strange to call that anorexia.
But feeling that you don't deserve to eat, feeling guilt, hurting yourself and hating yourself sound extremely unpleasant, and I imagine that your life would be a lot better if you didn't have those feelings. So maybe trying to get help for those feelings would be a useful thing for you.
I wonder if there is perhaps a professional of any kind you can talk to about what to do—maybe another family member, maybe a doctor, or maybe someone at your school or college.
