A Long little rant/confession ❤️
I've just gotten out of a toxic relationship with a drug addict. I started using for him so he wasnt alone & we could connect more when I was also on the drug. That lead me to binge eat for comfort and that's developed into purging at times too. I want food freedom, I don't know how to ask for help and be taken seriously. I'm trying every day and I always fail when it comes to sleeping - I can't sleep without doing something 'wrong' so I can feel free & powerful like nothing in the world matters to me. I need help, I'm going to talk to a doctor as soon as they get back to me with an appointment time. Any tips on how or what to tell them during the first assessment would be greatly appreciated - it's no longer about losing weight or the foods I used to enjoy eating. It's mental & I'm really lost - idk how to help myself.
Hi @bex13193. I think it's important that you tell your doctor everything that has happened to you so that he/she can best help you to solve your problems. Also, try talking to a counselor of some kind or online therapy if u have trouble finding people who'll take you seriously, as usually those kinds of people have the emotional maturity to understand that everyone's struggles are valid. And no matter what, I think it's important for u to rrmember that your struggles are completely valid and you're not undeserving of people taking you seriously. If u have trouble falling asleep, you could possibly take some supplements that are designed to help u do so, but I think it would be best to first consult with your doctor before taking any. Hope this helps, and remember to have hope that things will get better. It's okay to not feel okay now, but just remember that you'll eventually be okay.
