Hi, Im new here, I will try to do a brief summary of my hate / love and obsession for food. I have always been a thicker girl, always taller then the others and always overweight, Ive always hated myself and because of this and because of a breakup at the age of 13/14 I started vomiting anything I hate, my family thought it was beacause of a diet and they dont know why I lost weight, at 23 I realised that I might suffer of binge eating, I dont vomit anymore, it just happens once, twice a year, but if my brain tells me to eat, my body stops obeying my will, and when this happens food is the only thing I can think about, and after the binge, there is only space for remorse and shame, and I start hating me again and again, its like a circle...I tried to tell my mum I think I could suffer from it...I see my life stuck because of this, Im not obese, I should lose 15 kg, but I see myself as a worthless monster anyway

Hi Lime,

Sounds like you have discovered that willpower versus the body's natural instinct to eat when food is available does not always happiness make.

I'm beginning to sound like Yoda, but I've given in myself and had caffeine and a cake for breakfast, so, hey.

If I had to suggest one method that has the chance to change your habits, and hence your life, it would be mindfulness. There is a comprehensive selection of guided mindfulness audios on here, or you can go and do the free online course in mbsr run by Dave Potter.

It's hard work, but that shouldn't surprise you.
