I'm stuck in a binge relapse

I really need some help and advice. Two years ago I started a journey to lose the weight I need to lose, whilst on that journey I began to become more honest with my relationship with food.I admitted to myslef I have an eating disorder. I had binged, starved and purged as a teenager but as I've gotten older its mainly bingeing and with also having PCOS a hormone disorder my weight has skyrockted.

I was doing well but about 6 months ago life stresses and relationships problems with my family took its toll and I cant seem to find the motivation to start on my recoverey.I've become servely depressed and anxious because of all this. I'm just looking for advice from anyone who may have had a simlilar situation and how did you get back on track even just a few words of encouragment I can't talk to anyone close to me about any of this they just don't understand and either get upset or say I'm being dramatic.

Hey Bunny!

First off, you have the power to change your actions and your life, always remember that :)

I have just recently moved back in with my family and have been dealing with a lot of weight/depression/stress issues. I have a really hard time with compulsive eating habits, I actually just ate a hella lot of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies tbh and feeling a tiny bit guilty about that lol. But also, it's just food, it's not the end of the world.

I find it helps to just have other activities that you like to engage in, you can put a lot of effort into recovery, but at the end of the day if you're obsessed with recovering from an ED you are still technically obsessing with an ED. What do you really enjoy doing, what are your passions, what are your interests, what can keep you focused?

Once you recognize those things you can start putting more energy into them, and less into eating/body image. Even if you feel like shit, just recognizing how you feel and then doing something else(like for me I take a walk, write, or call a friend).

I understand wanting to lose weight and not having any support from family. My family has never supported me emotionally wise, and because of that, I had to deal with a lot of shit by myself. THAT IS THE WORST. While I feel like I am stronger because of it, I also feel hopeless at times when I feel like there is no one I can turn too. If you have any people you can call on the phone at all, I would suggest trying opening up to them. At worst, they might think you're being overdramatic, but at best you might have someone who can help support you.

You CAN do this, you CAN accomplish whatever you want. I'm sure of it! At times there will be snags, and it will feel like the hardest thing you have ever done, but remember how hard it is to feel awful. And how great it feels to be happy with yourself :)

- Smile at yourself in the mirror every morning for at least a minute

- Drink plenty of water

- Make healthy meals

- Track calories if that helps

- Tell yourself how awesome you are

- Go for walks, or if it's too cold outside jump up and down for a few minutes every hour

- Find out what you enjoy doing and do those things!

Good luck

- Azure :)

@azurePenguin1915 thank you so much for your advice. I do tend to obsess about my situation as I also have generalised anxiety disorder so it's good to get a reminder to look outward that has definitely been a major issue for me.
