I need help
Hi, I just found this group because I couldn't find anyone or anything else to turn to. I have suffered from BED since I was 14 and I'm now 18. It is horrible and makes me feel like I have no control over myself or my own body. I have constantly either lost weight or gained. I'm not big but this year I went from [edited by Anomalia for weight specifics] to [edited] pounds because I excerised and restricted foods and had a personal trainer. I thought my life was on track until I relapsed. For the past month I have binged everyday and even my trainer noticed I have gained weight. I feel like I'll never be normal and be in a healthy weight. I don't want anything in life but to eat like a normal person. It's so embarssing to be with my friends since they don't eat as much as me. I am not even scared to weigh my self and I MY clothes are getting tighter. I honestly don't know what to do anymore because I just want to be healthy and happy.

Hello there. First I want to acknowledge that you have a lot of courage posting this here. Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry to hear that you're struggling with this disorder. Binge eating disorder can be very detrimental to a person's mental health. Have you ever been diagnosed with anxiety or depression?
@HalliwellSister
ive never been to a doctor before..
@fitnessbingeater
A doctor in these cases could be a lot of help. Especially just a therapist. With eating disorders, a lot of times a person has either depression, anxiety, or both. But you could never know this unless you see a doctor first. How do you feel about doctors?
@HalliwellSister my parents say it's all in my head and I need to keep my self busy. I'm here on a student visa so I can't have a job rn n they won't take me so idk
@fitnessbingeater
That sounds frustrating. I am sorry to hear that your parents are like that. Having parents who are not supportive can make an eating disorder even more difficult. But not impossible to overcome. Have you looked to see if your college offers free counseling for students?
@HalliwellSister yes they actually do! But it's in the fall so going to be a while
@fitnessbingeater
You should definitely look into the free counseling.:) Anything is better than nothing. Also do you guys have a health center on campus?
@HalliwellSister I don't know I'm starting in the fall
@fitnessbingeater
so you're starting the school in the fall?
