Looking for friends
Hi, I’m eli (19, female) and I struggle with binge eating disorder. I’ve had an eating disorder and acted on the behaviors on and off for about ten years. I’m either bingeing or spending months trying to not eat. I’ve binged since I was really young, probably around eight or nine, when I would sneak food from the kitchen into my room and hide the trash. For about two years in high school I tried really hard to be anorexic and sometimes still act on those behaviors, but no matter how long the restrictive period is I always come back to bingeing. I guess I’m just looking for a buddy (preferably american for time zone reasons) to talk to when I’m feeling bad or when good things happen. It’d be nice to have someone who understands BED like I do.

One tip is also to check the listeners’ bio topics under “direct/lived experience” in order to find a listener that is best suited to provide support regarding the issue you would like help with, which in this situation is “eating disorders”. You can also look at the flag on the profile picture to more likely find an American listener.
