Night time eating

I find that I can't eat before lunch, sometimes dinner even depending on stress and how busy I am that day... But after 8 pm I just eat and eat and eat.... I'm gaining weight and of course eating and weight gain is obvious. But I get more stressed because I'm gaining weight then I tend to eat more. I also drink way too much Pepsi but can't seem to stop myself. Anyone have any tips? I have cut out some of the worst things I used to love alot (monster energy drinks, ect) but I eat these things or drink them then feel guilty and ashamed to only do it again for comfort. What should I do?

@Catcat5 You're not alone there, I struggle with stress eatting as well. For me it's to try feeling better about whatever's bothering me, but it also makes me feel worse in the long run.

Things I find helpful for me: Drinking a big glass of water before snacking, getting a healthy snack I enjoy (e.g. applesause), and/or finding an alternative coping method to deal with the stress and negetive emotions (e.g. music, art, writing).

@HunterRose that's a good idea I could try writing instead. When I was younger I did really enjoy doing that

@Catcat5 I would start switching from Pepsi to Pepsi Max. There is a lot fewer calories in the max-version, which can make you loose weight, even if you can't let go of your soda. If you can, try to only drink it in the weekends (friday, saturday, sunday).

Other than that, try to eat a "normal" meal, when you get hungry. No candies, chips, cakes whatever. If you are still hungry after the meal, don't do snacking, but eat greens (veggies) until you feel fuller and not hungry. When I binge, I do it rarely now, I have tought myself to "binge" in veggies and a little fruit, instead of candies, chips and so on. Had helped my weight a lot!
