Tired and exhausted

I’ve been overweight for most of my life, I’m 42 years old and I have 3 children. I focus all my time trying to be a good dad. I make sure that I don’t give my kids the impression that I’m depressed and stressed out about my weight and eating habits. Ive worn big clothes to hide my fat body all most my life because I’m so ashamed of how I look. I know people are judging me and I’m just so tired and broken inside. It’s so exhausting to hide my depression and always act like things don’t bother me. I put on a fake smile and just get thru my day as best as I can. I’ve never been one to feel self pity, I don’t have that luxury because I have a lot of responsibilities and obligations, nor have I ever spoken about my weight, but to be Honest I broke down crying today for the first time because I’m just defeated and tired. I just needed to get that out into the world, even if it’s just for a moment to let me release 42 years of stress and hurt.

@fatlosertmistake thank you so much for sharing that, I bet it was really hard for you. Have you tried getting some help with your eating habits? Like a support group, like Overeaters Anonymous, or even from a physician? I had bullimia for many years, so I know what it's like to feel completely out of control with your eating, and feel like things are falling appart all around you. There is no easy way out of this place where you are now, but it's certainly possible for you to live a full life again, a life without disturbing or distressing thoughts about food. If you ever want to talk about it more, I am happy to chat with you anytime.

I know how you feel, I'm going through it too. I've lost 25 lb but have so far to go. But I'm not giving up tomorrow's a new day to try. Don't give up my friend you're worth it. I feel overwhelmed a lot but the weight situation as well. It will and can get better. Thank you for sharing.
