So, during quarantine I’ve gained some weight. Ever since the pandemic hit, I’ve let my eating habits get out of hand. I used to get up early in the morning and run 3-4 miles. Now, I wake up really late in the morning for online school and get food delivery for dinner. I need to lose 20-30 pounds because yikes, it’s bad. In high school, I would purge and binge. I would also eat almost nothing. However I stopped once I got into college. I started to eat good and work out. I though I healed from that past experience. Unfortunately, during quarantine, I have started to binge and purge again. I keep starting diets that crash and burn because I don’t have the willpower I used to. This past week, something actually good happened in my life and I feel a spark of hope. I started a diet and haven’t purged or binged in 4 days. I need some support or advice so my current diet doesn’t crash and burn. Thanks

@Bread97 My ED therapist told me one thing: When you don't eat enough you are doomed, bc then you will binge. If you eat healthy and "enough" though, then you will be less likely to binge, and therefore less likely to purge too. So get on the internet, and start researching for filling recipes. See what you can find that is healthy and filling. If you do that, you will be less likely to binge. I speak from experience heart

@Bread97 first, i just want to say that i'm very proud of you for doing so well with this new diet <3 quarantine has really caused some tough times and habits for all of us, that's for sure :c it's understandable why this could happen, but please, don't be too hard on yourself. eating disorders are very, very tough struggles with many obstacles along the way. but these successes that you have had aren't completely erased. you have the strength to continue to heal and get through this. you are already so strong for reaching out for support with this, and i'm really proud of you <3 you're amazing, and you are capable. you have my support c: just keep reminding yourself that <3

Thank you for the encouraging words. I’ll try to keep improving always. I should probably try real therapy, but it is alittle expensive lol. It makes me happy that there are complete strangers ready to help random people like me. Thanks again for your comment

For a minute I thought I wrote this at first. I am struggling too. I hadn't been actively bulimic in over ten years and then had a horrible year last year. I mean horrible. I was diagnosed with cancer, my husband had emergency surgery, my daughter was sick...the stress eating was real and then weight came and I have been falling apart. It felt like the only thing I could control and then I lost that too. My only advice is to not call it a diet. It has to be a healthy lifestyle choice. That's how I got better originally. I had joined weight watchers and learned to eat healthy. It is a lifetime thing. I didn't get better from any eating disorder groups or therapy. It was truly there. I just started going back to meetings. I'm trying to not beat myself up about it. But I still struggle and then get mad at myself after. We have to take it one day at a time
