What is the most helpful thing anyone has told you?
I know a lot of people aren't sure how to best support a friend or loved one with an eating disorder, but every so often, someone stumbles on the perfect thing to say. What's the most helpful thing someone has said to you?
For me, it was after I went to my first support group, and before even asking how it went or if I would go back, my friend just told me she was proud of me for going and gave me a hug.
I don't think it has really ever mattered to me what people have said. At an early age, I built walls up except for people that were incapable of giving affection. I've always been harder on myself than I'd ever be with anyone else.
I guess I'd like to hear, and believe, that I was a good man, that I am not measured by my possessions, but by my actions.

I cangive compliments; I'm just not good at accepting them.
