When did you first know you had a problem with bulimia?
Hindsight is 20/20. So, looking back I can see that the problem started when I was about 16. I had trouble with boys, I was in a foster home, a lot was going on in my life. I felt unwanted and unworthy and so I stopped eating and started running. Later on in life, though I kind of pulled out of it (mostly thanks to my momma who adopted me that year and who made me eat and watched me like a hawk). Then, the same problems arose after I had moved out on my own and joined the military. I was living in the dorms, I had few friends and little access to my family. I didn't like my job and I felt ugly, unwanted, unworthy.. all over again. So this time I dieted and worked out again, but lost weight much faster. Ever since I lost that weight, I've been binging and restricting. After I lost the weight and became lethargic and lost most interest in things I used to like. I felt awful. Every time I ate I wanted to restrict and then when I finally couldn't anymore, I binged.. Then, the cycle started all over again. That's when I realized I had a problem. And I've been fighting ever since.
I'm glad you found a home I'm adopted also and it makes it even harder.
I have just been diagnosed. 2 weeks ago. I have had issues with anorexia in the past. Then it changed to Ednos and now I've been diagnosed with bulimia. I knew it was bulimia for about a year now. I was 14 when the anorexia started. Went into hospital at 17. Came out of hospital at 18. Ednos until 19. I'm now 20 and it's bulimia. It's all weird and I can't seem to escape eating disorders. I just switch.
Im14 and have anorexia. I knew something was wrong a few weeks ago when in health class my teacher told the class we were going to be talking about eating disorders and everyone looked at me. After class (my teacher is a former nurse) my teacher asked me in private if anything we talked about related to me and I said no but she told me to eat lunch with her. I tried to refuse but she made me eat half of my sandwich. I went to the restroom to throw up and she told me I am anorexic and show signs of bulimia. But thankfully she isn't telling my mom.
It was actually about in October of last year. I had recovered in the second week of December then I was actually going in a downward spiral doing things I told myself I never would of done and it showed back up in March it was always here and there that I would binge and purge then it got to the point where I was absolutely afraid to eat for two weeks . I've been in recovery working to get stronger, but it's a journey of strength and commitment.
