@aquaSky2649
There's no wrong with you just because you are gay.
You don't need to punish yourself.
Men struggle with body image issues all the time as well.
It's not easy accepting ourselves when the world or people around us tell us there is something wrong with us!
You are perfectly fine as you are.
There is a teen support here, should you want to talk with like-minded people 💚

@aquaSky2649 Hi, there aren't many people with male bodies who have eating disorders, so I couldn't help but write.
I also started with eating disorders when I was 14, with intense binge eating and purging. Just like you, I was caught up in using laxatives and body image issues.
But you were able to tell your parents about your eating disorder - I couldn't do that. That's amazing!
I'm a cis hetero man, but I felt embarrassed if I didn't have a sharper, more masculine body. And I was even embarrassed about feeling that way.
I really understand that feeling of going back to it over and over.
You're right - it would be good to have some fun, healthy time to think about something other than your body. What kinds of things can you get really into?
Thanks for letting me share about myself too.
Hey I just saw this post, I hope you're already doing better , in response to this post I get to say I relate to your feelings and I'm sorry about how your experience wasn't met with the support you tried asking for, if I have things that make me manage staying in recovery is literally stop feeding the cycle of this ED and aim my efforts towards caring for myself in the right ways instead of fighting myself cause I'm in a cycle that feeds on making me weaker and more ashamed, in other sense I'm learning how to live life with my own company outside of my ED cycle and care for who I am and what I need rather than keep trying to make sense of a cycle that doesn't actually make sense in the first place, yes it was hard and feels confusing as if I was invalidating myself but I just shifted to grounding and meeting my needs out of making the human need for nutrition the spotlight of my existence because of whatever shameful beliefs I had. You are not alone and you are not your problems, you are not a problem. Best luck
