i need advice
Hey so i’m type1 diabetic and i suffer with diabulimia, it’s where i don’t take my medication to lose weight. i’ve been hospitalised 4 times because of it & nearly lost my life and i can’t even bear to look at myself in the mirror. i think that my medication makes me gain weight and i wish i would listen to the people that tell me it doesn’t. but it also makes me really hungry so i miss it so that i don’t have to eat because whenever i eat i tend to throw it back up again. is there any advice on how to think positively about giving my medication?

is there any type of food that you purge specifically? Do you purge anything or is it just when you binge? If the latter is the case then maybe if you minimized your binge episodes, you’d feel more comfortable taking the medication ?
Drink water and try and stay mindful. If eating stresses you out, maybe you could find some techniques to calm down after eating, because I know that purging feels like a relief….. or maybe try and distract yourself after eating?
Your negativity towards your medication is related or maybe a result of this eating disorder, so perhaps by starting the road to recovery, you’d be freeing two birds with one key?
Sorry, I’m pants at giving advice. But I really want to help. I’m a bulimic with a diabetic friend and sometimes I wonder how much worse it would be for her if she had bulimia…

@meganchloe17 It sounds like you are struggling with a negative self image, and this is causing life threatening situations when you do not take your diabetic medication as a result. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Whether you see yourself or others as beautiful or ugly depends far more on your perception than on the physical traits you are looking at.
