Can't eat without getting dizzy...
So my eating disorder has been really bad for about a year. I lost so much weight so quickly, and now I'm gaining again and I'm almost back to where I was and I'm scared. I starve myself for weeks and then binge for a few days and then starve again. The dietician at the hospital says most days I don't even eat half the calories I need. Except binge days of course. I've noticed recently that I get really lightheaded after I eat normal or large portions of food at one time. Is this an issue?
Eating disorders of any type can have a lot of physical consequences. You aren't alone in your struggles. I was bulimic for a long time and when I stopped, I had difficulty swallowing. My body was telling me that if I wasn't going to let the food come back out it wasn't going to let the food in. Working with a good dietician and therapist and allowing them to work together to help me was essential. I would check in with a doctor just to make sure all of your electrolytes are ok and your heart rate isn't too low. Those are common with eating disorders. Keep trying for recovery.
I'm assuming that your body isn't used to eating normal or large portions and it is trying to adjust itself to this different eating lifestyle. If you experience a lot of discomfort however I would bring it up with your doctor or dietician just to be sure. Recovery can be a long and difficult process but I hope that you stick through it and that you have a strong support system!
