Hello lovelies! I apologize for not posting yesterday. I was having technology issues and my computer kept restarting for some weird reason haha. Anyways, welcome back to day 3! I hope everyone is doing well and I hope this challenge is helping.
Self-Care Tasks:
- Make a list of 5 reasons why recovery is worth it.
- Write yourself a love letter! Point out the things you like about yourself and why you like them.
- Do one thing today that you have been putting off (school work, cleaning, etc.)
- Drink some water today!
Self-Care Tasks - Day three:
- Recovery is worth it because:
1. I will have more energy to do more fun things.
2. I will feel less stressed on a daily basis.
3. It means I can just get on with my life.
4. I will be a better friend.
5. I will feel happier.
- I finally attempted to call my landlord about my broken heating (it's nearly been three weeks). He didn't answer but I sent a text with the issue.
- Made myself some spaghetti bolognase today!
AWESOME CHECK IN IDEAS. THANKS!
My Self-Care Tasks:
- Make a list of 5 reasons why recovery is worth it.
1. Freedom
2. Living my authentic life and being my authentic self
3. More time to make actions plans about things that are REALLY worth it to me: like, going back to school to finishing my MA in social work.
4. Having true human connections with other people - new friends I have yet to meet and old friends I have isolated away from
5. Start LIVING
6. Make peace with myself and my body
7. Show myself much needed self care and self love - AND SELF FORGIVNESS
8. This is a hard one - Actually DEALING with the REAL root cause of my ED ( Trauma for me, personally), work through it and heal from it and move past it.
9. Because living with an ED, for me, is HELL - it is NOT living.
10. I have suffered ENOUGH!
- Write yourself a love letter! Point out the things you like about yourself and why you like them.
Dear blissedNblessed -
You have spent your whole life, for variopus reasons, hiding who you truley are and feeling shame for that which was not your fault. I understand that the lifetime of your ED was not " your fault" - it was easier to focus and deal and think about that instead of the realy scary stuff - hey - calories much much easier. But, the time has come now, to move forward, to be your true self, to not care what others think and stand tall in your own beleif in yourself. STOP trying to punish yourself - you suffered enough and you no longer need to. I know all of this is so much easier to say than to do - so be gentle with yourself. And always remember - one step back does not take you all the way to square one - you are always just one choice away to being in recovery. It will not be easy - your ED has been with you almost your whole life. But those nasty , judgmental, cruel thoughts - they are not Your voice - it is your ED's voice and you no longer have to listen and adhere to what they say and want you do to . Times up now for that. It is okay to let go and blossom into the person you are and were always meant to be. And in case you forget , let me just tell you something: you are Intelligent, you can Multitask like no one's business, you are Creative, You have such a talent fro writting poetry and prose, you are resilient, Artistic, you can see how the small pieces fit into the whole, you are Spiritual, Organized, Compassionate and highly empathetic. You put people at ease talking to tehm because you do not judge them- expect them to change - you accept tham as they are in that moment. You are real, down to earth and for the most part ( hey - work in progress) grounded. You see Beauty everywhere you go. Let's turn those beauty glasses and look inward now and focus more on that. I love you and you are far beyond wonderful <3
- Do one thing today that you have been putting off (school work, cleaning, etc.)
I already did it!
I cleaned up the entire living room - top to bottom :)
...but even better than that : I made the decision to live or die - I made the decision to start working on thriving in my life, to treating myself with compassion, to moving towards recovery, to getting my MA finished, to seeking out a therapist that can help with this life transition away from ED and the root cause of it ( trauma). THIS - is HUGE for me. <3
- Drink some water today!
Done, done, done!
...well, can always use more water...I think I have been living off coffee and diet soda for too long....time to re-hydrate myself and take care of this body.
