Last year I began a high calorie diet [edited by 24Help1 for calorie amounts] a day while doing heavy weight gym sessions 4-5 days a week. I can explain more of the diet later, but yes it was very healthy meals(tracked everything I needed daily on my fitness pal) I was around 62kg/135lbs when I started. After 2 months of it I had gotten up to [edited by 24Help1 for weight] lbs, but I began to lose my appetite. I couldn't finish the big meals I had been eating. Eventually it got to the point where I couldn't eat anything anymore. It's a feeling as if my stomach is really full and don't need to eat. I carry this feeling all day everyday. I can go all day without eating and I won't have one ounce of hunger in me. I have to force myself to eat now. The thing is I want to eat. I've always been able to eat anything whenever, wherever, and still be hungry an hour later. Fast forward 7 months and it's been the same exact feeling. No hunger/appetite at all. I did start going to see a doctor and have ran blood work, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, and have been taking omeprazole as a possible solution, but all tests/results have came out negative or no sign of anything out of the ordinary. Doctor has been put on pause because of the virus obviously. Thanks in advance for any help.

@bestClementine5367 Maybe try food that is high calorie, so you don't have to eat so big portions? Like spice up with protein powder or stuff like that? :)

@bestClementine5367 That's so tricky! I think the loss of hunger is such a challenge in eating issue/ disorder recovery. i think generally it's good to find food you enjoy the taste of, and enjoy eatng. I think it's also important to not run your body down with a strenuous exercise regimen when you're not putting the energy you need back in. Make sure you eat regularly, ideally three meals a day and three snacks! Even if you don't feel hungry, eating is important!

@bestClementine5367   This can happen after long periods of force-feeding/high-calorie bulking. Appetite hormones (like ghrelin) and gastric emptying can get dysregulated, especially alongside heavy training and stress. Since major issues are ruled out, easing calories back gradually, prioritizing liquid calories, managing training volume, and giving your digestion time to normalize may help. Definitely follow up with your doctor when possible, persistent loss of appetite is worth monitoring.

Thank you for opening up about this — it sounds incredibly distressing to go from having a strong appetite to feeling full all the time and needing to force yourself to eat. You were putting a lot of effort into your training and nutrition, and losing your hunger must feel confusing and frustrating, especially when you want to eat but your body isn’t responding the way it used to.

I am wondering how you are doing now. What have you tried since then, and how have those things affected your situation?

I’m really glad you shared what you’re going through. Your post may help others who are going through something similar.
