Hiii (TW ⚠️)
So hiii I honestly don’t know if I have an eating disorder: i eat “correctly” (normal amounts of food) but I’m highly sensitive when sm talks about my weight, and I’m very careful of what I’m eating . I’m truly frustrated if I can’t exercice / workout one day and I feel rly bad. When I feel bad I do either of those 2 things : exercice or self-harm (not sure if that can be considered as self harm though, bc these are just scratches and surface-level cuts).
I envy the ppl around me which I see as much skinnier than me - or maybe it’s a distorted viewpoint of reality, honestly I don’t know if everything is just a distorted view of reality, I’m not trusting myself on what I see or experience.
Maybe I don’t have an eating disorder but some other problems intertwined, what are your thoughts on this ?
@SeaShellOnTheShore I am not an expert, but I agree with you—probably no eating disorder, but some other related problems.
Based on what you wrote, it seems that the way you eat is not harmful to you in any way, but you have some unpleasant feelings like sensitivity, frustration, feeling bad, feeling envy, and loss of trust in your own experiences.
As you probably know, eating disorders can be very difficult to treat, but unpleasant feelings and distorted views of reality are the kind of thing most therapists are able to help with.
