About a year ago I was restricting and always wanted to lose weight. I had really bad depression and one of my close friends was just diagnosed with anorexia and eventually I started to feel bad about my weight. I only lost about [weight edited by 24Help1] pounds and my parents never knew, even though they suspected it. Ive gained the weight back, and more and now all I do is think about how much I eat and what I need to lose. I go for a day without eating and then eat so much, then I feel guilty about it. I feel so horrible about my weight and cant eat anything until I put it into a calorie counter app or ill have a panic attack. I havent lost any weight tho, which is why I dont think I really have an eating disorder. Do I?

@selfconfidentPal8905 I think one misconception about eating disorders is that the person has to be thin/losing weight, but that's not true at all, ED comes in many shapes and forms. It sounds like there's a pretty big tension between you and food, that it's causing you a lot of anxiety, feelings of guilt, and thinking about it is preoccupying a lot of your time. I feel like those are important things, and that the stress this is causing you is important to address. Given all of that, it seems like it could be possible that you have an eating disorder, or disordered eating, but of course we can't tell you for sure here if you do or not. I'm happy that you're recognizing that something is off, do you think that maybe going to see a doctor about it would be helpful to you? To talk it out with a professional and see what kind of support or plan you can create together, or figuring out healthy alternatives?
